83rd Annual Meeting - Indian Academy of Sciences

The 83rd Annual Meeting of the Indian Academy of Sciences is being held at Shillong, hosted by the North-Eastern Hill University, during 3 – 5 November 2017. The two and a half days’ deliberation will see the participation of many Fellows and Associates of the Academy and invited teachers from different parts of the country who will engage in active scientific discussions with the Fellows.

The meeting will include inaugural lectures by newly elected Fellows and Associates over a wide range of scientific topics. The deliberations also include two special lectures on Positive definite matrices and Targeted therapy for cancer, along with high-level scientific symposiam, on New Technologies Changing Our Lives and earth science of the North-East. Encompassing wider areas, the 83rd Annual Meeting will carry forward the tradition of public lectures by scholars from various fields.

The 83rd Academy meeting will also comprise many allied events including a teachers’ interaction session with the members of the Science Education Panel (SEP) and Fellows, Editorial Board meetings, an exhibition of Academy’s publications (journals and books), and a brief press conference.

All the scientific presentations are open to public, in particular college and university students, faculty and others.

North-Eastern Hill University Logo North-Eastern Hill University was set up by an Act of Parliament and notified on 19th July 1973.
